Neighborhoods working together on wildfire resilience & readiness
We are a network of Firewise Communities in Kensington, California, an unincorporated town in Contra Costa County. Organized by neighborhood Firewise volunteers and supported by our District officials and Firefighters, our goal is to connect with every Kensington resident and ensure they are prepared for a wildfire event.
Simple steps everyone can take to protect their home
Everyday actions like sweeping make Zone 0 more ember resistant:
Clear debris from the base of fences & structures
Replace flammable items like wood benches and doormats
Move bins and furniture at least 5' from your home
Keep decks, gutters & rooftops free of debris
Find and fill gaps around doors, windows, and siding
Prune plants away from windows and under eaves
Remove anything flammable stored on or under decks
